Deals Rumor Mill: Charter, Vista Equity, China Merchants

By Benjamin Horney (March 16, 2016, 4:44 PM EDT) -- The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission is expected to send around the draft of an order approving Charter Communications Inc.'s $55 billion merger with Time Warner Cable Inc. as early as this week, according to a Wednesday report from The Wall Street Journal. According to the report, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler is set to greenlight the deal, so long as the companies agree to certain remedies, one of which will be that Charter would be banned from including clauses in its pay-TV contracts that restrict a company's ability to offer its content online. The draft will be circulated amongst the four other FCC commissioners, who will have the ability to modify or approve it, the report said....
