Roche Vows To Appeal $12.9M Accutane Verdict

Law360, New York (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Hoffmann-La Roche has vowed to appeal after three plaintiffs who claimed they developed inflammatory bowel disease after taking the acne drug Accutane were awarded almost $13 million by a New Jersey jury Wednesday afternoon.

The verdict followed a five-week trial in New Jersey Superior Court in Atlantic City. There were three separate cases, but they were tried as one. The defendants were Hoffmann-La Roche and Roche Laboratories Inc.
