China Plans Overhaul Of Dairy Industry Regulations

Law360, New York (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Following the scandal over melamine-tainted milk, Chinese authorities announced plans Wednesday to overhaul the country's dairy industry, less than a week after U.S. regulators called for the examination of all Chinese dairy imports.

China's State Council, along with the country's National Development and Reform Commission, central bank and 11 other ministries, plans to rework the entire industry by October 2011, according to the country's official Xinhua News Agency.
