Google Faces Infringement Suit Over Chrome Browser

Law360, New York (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- After settling patent litigation last month with Microsoft Corp. over Web browser technology, a Texas patent-holding company has stepped up its infringement claims against Google Inc. over some of the same patents.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Aloft Media LLC claims the Web giant's new open-source browser, Google Chrome, violates U.S. Patent Number 7,194,691, which covers graphical user interfaces used in conjunction with a network browser.
