EU Nations Agree To Overhaul Farm Subsidies

Law360, New York (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The agricultural ministers of European Union member states have agreed on a plan to streamline agricultural policy, lifting restrictions on farmers and promising investment in rural development.

Key reforms of the EU's so-called Common Agricultural Policy include phasing out quotas for milk production and abolishing set-asides of arable land, the European Commission announced Thursday.
