"Rocket Docket" Bill Passes House Markup

Law360, New York (July 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Legislation creating so-called “Rocket Dockets” to speed up patent cases and reduce reversal rates on appeal eased through a Congressional markup Thursday after concerns about possible forum shopping were addressed.

The bill was introduced in May by inventor and patent holder Darrell Issa, a Republican Representative from California. Since then it’s generated buzz among tech groups and has attracted a wide variety of support from Capitol Hill and beyond.
