MicroStrategy Rapped With $2.4M For Rival's Fees

Law360, New York (November 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal magistrate judge awarded software maker Business Objects Americas approximately $2.4 million in attorneys’ fees, holding that the vast majority of patent claims asserted by rival MicroStrategy Inc. were pursued in bad faith.

Magistrate Judge Mary Pat Thynge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware ruled that Business Objects, owned by France's Business Objects SA, was entitled to virtually all the fees and costs it requested for litigation that MicroStrategy initiated 5 years ago over contested software technology.
