Matsushita Brings Patent Suit Against DVD Maker

Law360, New York (July 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japanese electronics giant Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. has hit a Taiwanese rival with a patent infringement suit, alleging the optical disc maker’s DVD discs violated its patents.

Matsushita lodged the suit Wednesday against CMC Magnetics Corp. and two of its U.S. units, Hotan Corp. and KHypermedia Corporation, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
