CFTC Needs People With 'Gravitas': Rep. Peterson

Law360, New York (November 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson, D-Minn., has reportedly asked President-elect Barack Obama to strengthen the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, calling for “robust” appointments and an end to the marginalization of the commission.

“One of the things I'm working on with the Obama people is we need some robust, knowledgeable people with gravitas appointed to the CFTC,” Peterson told Dow Jones News Service.
