Food Service Workers Launch $200M Race Suit

Law360, New York (December 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Eleven black employees of a global food-service provider have filed a multimillion-dollar proposed class action against the company alleging that white supervisors harassed and discriminated against them, calling them names and prohibiting them from staffing catering functions.

In a lawsuit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, current and former workers allege that supervisors of Compass Group PLC and its subsidiaries Compass Group North America and Flik International Corp. also retaliated against them when they complained about their treatment....
