He represented Todd Newman in the historic insider trading case that resulted in Newman's vindication in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and a denial of the government's petition for review in the U.S. Supreme Court. Fishbein has tried a broad range of criminal and commercial matters and is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. His investigations practice spans corruption, antitrust and financial fraud issues. From 2007 to 2010, Fishbein served as the independent compliance monitor for Baker Hughes Inc. following what was then the largest FCPA fine on record. Before joining Shearman & Sterling, Fishbein was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York. In 2015, Fishbein was named one of Law360's White Collar MVPs and also one of the American Lawyer Litigators of the Year for his work on the Newman case and other matters....
