Employment Legislation To Watch In 2009

Law360, New York (December 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Under President Obama and with a stronger Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate, Americans can reasonably expect to see worker-friendly laws passed in the coming year, according to experts who follow such activity on Capitol Hill.

"There will be a renewed focus in the Senate on labor, employment and civil rights legislation," according to new Proskauer Rose LLP partner Leslie E. Silverman, who until recently served as vice chairwoman at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and led an anti-discrimination task force.
