Defense Cos. To Shell Out $4.6M For Superfund Site

Law360, New York (December 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- FMC Corp. and BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP will pay the U.S. government $4.6 million to help cover cleanup costs at a Minnesota Superfund site that has long been home to a manufacturing facility for naval weapons equipment.

The U.S. Department of the Navy will recover $4.2 million and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will receive $460,000 under a consent decree with the companies filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
