Conn. High Court Upholds Arbitration In Tobacco Spat

Law360, New York (December 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the latest dispute over a 1998 settlement between four tobacco companies and 46 states, the Supreme Court of Connecticut has upheld a trial court decision granting the defendants' motion to arbitrate a spat over payments to that state.

The state Supreme Court's decision — which will officially be released in the Connecticut Law Journal on Tuesday — affirms a trial court's decision granting the companies' motion for arbitration in a settlement payment dispute.
