EU Seeks Input On RWE's Promise To Divest

Law360, New York (December 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has asked interested parties to weigh in on RWE Group's promise to let go of certain gas transmission assets in an attempt to assuage concerns that it has abused its dominant power over the German gas markets.

RWE agreed to divest the assets in response to the commission's suspicions that it had refused to supply gas transmission services to third parties and tried to lower the profit margin of its downstream competitors in gas supply. However, the company did not admit any wrongdoing....
