Microsoft Sues Belkin Over Plug-And-Play Technology

Law360, New York (August 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. filed a patent infringement complaint Tuesday with the International Trade Commission against Belkin Corp. over so-called U2 technology.

U2 technology allows peripheral devices like computer mice and keyboards to connect with computers with either a PS2 or universal serial bus (USB) interface, making those devices more versatile. Devices using U2 technology can sense which type of interface they are encountering and function accordingly.
