AMD, Intergraph In Dispute Over Chip Patents

Law360, New York (January 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices is taking rival Intergraph to court in the Northern District of California over five patents at the heart of an earlier $300 million settlement with Intel.

AMD is seeking a declaratory judgment of non-infringement in the chipmaker’s patent dispute with Intergraph. The world’s second largest semiconductor manufacturer, which recorded sales of more than $2.7 billion in 2002, is also asking the court to declare the five patents invalid.
