Wildlife Tracking Co.'s FOIA Suit Against DOI Tossed

Law360, New York (December 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior has won summary judgment in a lawsuit in which a wildlife monitoring company and its pilot sought to erase the agency's records concerning when the pilot flew his airplane too close to the ground.

The DOI argued that it was right to deny Research Air Inc.'s request to expunge the records because the plaintiffs had not followed the Freedom of Information Act's and Privacy Act's rules for seeking and amending government information.
