Meijer Reaches $13M Deal With Barr In Ovcon Case

Law360, New York (December 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Following close on the heels of two other plaintiffs, Meijer Inc. and a class of direct purchasers have reached a $13 million settlement with Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc., potentially closing long-running litigation over an alleged antitrust conspiracy to keep a generic version of the oral contraceptive Ovcon off the shelves.

Monday's settlement came less than a month after Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia signed off on a settlement between Barr and two other plaintiffs, CVS Pharmacy Inc. and Walgreen Co....
