Samsung Hit With Suit Over Chip Patents

Law360, New York (December 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- BTG International Inc. has sued Samsung Electronics Co. and several of its affiliates for allegedly infringing patents related to flash memory chips used in Samsung's consumer electronics products, including MP3 players, digital camcorders and cell phones.

In a complaint lodged Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, BTG claimed that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.; Samsung Electronics America Inc.; Samsung Telecommunications America LLC; Samsung Semiconductor Inc. and Samsung Austin Semiconductor LLC are willfully and deliberately infringing four patents related to flash memory...
