Broadcom, OPTi Strike Deal In Tech Patent Suit

Law360, New York (January 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Semiconductor maker Broadcom Corp. and OPTi Inc. have filed a motion to dismiss a patent infringement lawsuit, making Broadcom the second of eight defendants to settle the intellectual property licensing company's complaint related to computing technology.

The motion, which requires a judge's approval, was filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. It did not disclose any details of the settlement except to note the parties would bear their own costs and fees.
