Judge Breaks Up Antitrust Cases V. Columbia Gas

Law360, New York (January 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A consolidated case claiming that pipeline company Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. participated in an anti-competitive kickback scheme with certain natural gas shippers has been broken apart by a judge and will proceed as individual cases after the plaintiffs failed to have the case certified as a class action.

On Monday, Judge Robert C. Chambers issued a ruling in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia stating that seven of the eight consolidated cases would be treated as individual cases going forward....
