Tyson Pleads Guilty In Worker's Toxic Gas Death

Law360, New York (January 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Tyson Foods Inc. has pled guilty to charges of willfully violating safety regulations and agreed to pay a fine of $500,000 over the 2003 death of an Arkansas rendering plant worker.

According to a plea agreement filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, the poultry giant consented to charges of willful violation of an Occupational Safety and Health Administration standard that led to the death of the employee, Jason Kelley.
