$100M Superfund Settlement Propels NJ Cleanup

Law360, New York (January 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The federal government and about 300 other parties will pay roughly $100 million as part of a settlement to ensure that cleanup efforts continue at the Combe Fill South Superfund Site Landfill in Morris County, N.J.

Under the terms of a consent decree filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the defendants will pay $69 million for the reimbursement of past costs, including $6.4 million that will come from federal departments and agencies.
