Roche Drops Patent From Suits Over Generic Boniva

Law360, New York (January 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A patent covering the composition of Hoffmann-La Roche Inc.'s Boniva has now been dropped from all lawsuits seeking to stop generic companies from making their own version of the osteoporosis drug.

In an order filed Monday, Judge Stanley R. Chesler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey signed off on an agreement between Roche and Canadian generics maker Genpharm ULC dropping all claims related to U.S. Patent Number 6,294,196.
