Democrats Schedule Vote On Public Lands Package

Law360, New York (January 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has scheduled a Sunday morning vote to proceed on a package of more than 160 public lands bills that Republicans blocked last year and that still faces fierce opposition.

On Wednesday, Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., chairman of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, introduced the package and issued a statement that he's “delighted” that the majority leader is pushing for an early vote.
