House Bill Would Protect Patents Under Joint Venture

Law360, New York (January 22, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Judiciary Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives approved legislation Wednesday to extend to joint ventures the same patent protection now given single entities.

The committee cleared the "Cooperative Research and Technology Enhancement (CREATE) Act of 2004" by voice vote.

The Judiciary Court, the Internet and Intellectual Property Subcommittee approved the measure last summer. The bill now goes to the House of Representatives.
