AIG's Insurance Fight Spawns Trade Secret Battle

Law360, New York (August 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A testy battle over trade secrets and employee agreements is brewing between former corporate partners after a group of officers and employees at insurance giant American International Group Inc. were sued by insurance brokerage C.V. Starr & Co. Inc.

The lawsuit, filed Aug. 7 in the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, accuses AIG of trying to “systematically destroy” Starr’s business by misappropriating proprietary information and raiding the firm for new employees, among other things.
