Kellogg Halts Crackers Over Salmonella Fears

Law360, New York (January 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Kellogg Co. has placed a hold on its Austin- and Keebler-brand peanut butter sandwich crackers in light of Peanut Corp. of America's announcement that its peanut butter could be contaminated with salmonella.

PCA and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration initiated a recall Tuesday after discovering an open container of King Nut-brand peanut butter in a nursing facility in Minnesota contained salmonella from the same strain that has poisoned hundreds of people across the country since September.
