SiRF Chips Infringe 3 More Broadcom Patents: ITC

Law360, New York (January 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- After a three-month review, the U.S. International Trade Commission has affirmed an administrative law judge's initial determination that some GPS chips produced by SiRF Technology Holdings Inc. violate three patents owned by a unit of Broadcom Corp., and has banned the import of the chips and products containing them.

With the agency's decision and exclusion order issued Thursday, the ITC has now found SiRF to infringe a total of six GPS satellite patents belonging to Broadcom subsidiary Global Locate Inc.
