Effective Jan. 1, 2009, the Board of Judges approved L. (D.N.J.) Civ. R. 9.3, Local Patent Rules. In so doing, the New Jersey District Courts became the latest in a series of districts to adopt a vastly accelerated discovery period leading to patent claim construction proceedings.[1]
