Calif. High Court To Hear 2nd Meal Break Appeal

Law360, New York (January 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Less than three months after agreeing to hear a similar appeal, California's highest court has granted a petition to review another appellate court's ruling that state law requires only that companies provide meal breaks, not that they ensure that employees take them.

The Supreme Court of California said Jan. 14 that it would hear the case but put the appeal from a former employee of Public Storage Inc. on hold pending the resolution of an earlier suit on the meal and rest break issues.
