Deals Rumor Mill: Bayer, CenturyLink, Samsung Electronics

By Benjamin Horney (September 9, 2016, 3:14 PM EDT) -- Bayer AG and Monsanto Co. are closing in on a merger agreement that would create the largest seeds and pesticides maker in the world, according to a Friday report from Bloomberg. According to the report, the two are in the final stages of negotiations, and a deal could be inked as soon as early next week. The report also cautioned that it is possible the talks fall apart. The report follows Bayer's confirmation earlier this week that it had raised its buyout offer for Monsanto to $127.50 per share. The German drug and chemical maker has been in pursuit of Monsanto since May, when it first lobbed a $62 billion bid....
