Google Seeks To Invalidate Aloft Patent

Law360, New York (January 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Search engine giant Google Inc. is seeking to invalidate a patent asserted against it by patent-holding company Aloft Media LLC in a lawsuit over Google's Toolbar application, arguing that the patent is indefinite.

In a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Google said that Aloft's patent, U.S. Patent Number 7,305,625, is invalid due to indefiniteness because it combines system and method claims.
