Ex-Westar Exec Falls Short On Bid For Legal Costs

Law360, New York (January 22, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit has partially rejected Westar Energy Inc.'s attempts to wriggle out of covering the legal costs of former executive Douglas Lake, who is facing a third criminal trial on fraud charges.

On Wednesday, the Tenth Circuit affirmed in part and reversed in part an interlocutory order that would force Westar to pick up the tab for Lake's past and future defense costs.
