EU Officials Raid Slovak Telekom In Antitrust Probe

Law360, New York (January 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- European Union officials raided the offices of Slovak Telekom AS on suspicions that Slovakia's largest telecommunications operator had violated European anti-monopoly rules, the European Commission announced Thursday.

EU officials conducted the unannounced raids between Jan. 13 and 15 as part of a probe into whether Slovakia's communications giant violated European regulations by refusing to supply, margin squeezing and tying, possibly as part of an overall strategy to exclude competitors from the market, the EC said.
