Law360, New York (January 27, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- A former top-ranking lawyer at General Electric Co. has settled a $500 million lawsuit she brought against the company alleging a systemic, companywide policy of sex discrimination.
Lorene Schaefer, former general counsel of GE Transportation, announced the deal Tuesday with few details, saying the terms of the settlement were confidential.
“In connection with this settlement, Ms. Schaefer has dismissed her individual and alleged class gender discrimination claims against GE and is electing to pursue other opportunities,” the statement said.
