Obama Signs Ledbetter Fair Pay Act Into Law

Law360, New York (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- President Obama signed his first bill into law Thursday, hailing the landmark pay discrimination legislation as an important step toward fundamental fairness for U.S. workers.

Obama approved the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in a ceremonial signing in the East Room of the White House, flanked by lawmakers who pushed the bill through Congress and the 70-year-old woman who inspired them.
