DOI To Review Ethics Scandal Sanctions

Law360, New York (January 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior will review the sanctions meted out to Minerals Management Service workers who habitually used drugs and alcohol and had sex with oil and gas industry executives, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar has pledged.

On Thursday, Salazar announced an ethics reform program that would re-investigate the potentially criminal conduct of MMS employees, consider restructuring the DOI's oil and gas royalty program, and review its policies and regulations on ethics.
