Massey Foreman Indicted For Fatal 2006 Mine Fire

Law360, New York (January 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Massey Energy Co. foreman has been formally indicted on a slew of federal charges connected to a January 2006 fire at one of the energy giant's subsidiaries that resulted in two miners' deaths.

On Thursday, a grand jury handed down an indictment against David Runyon, charging him with two counts of failing to hold mandatory evacuation drills and three counts of falsifying records to indicate the drills had taken place.
