Jacksonville, Koch Industries Sued In Superfund Case

Law360, New York (February 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The city of Jacksonville, Fla., and Koch Industries Inc. are facing two lawsuits claiming they should contribute to the cleanup of a former electrical transformer manufacturing operation in North Carolina that is contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls.

Consolidation Coal Co. and Progress Energy Carolinas Inc. each filed separate lawsuits Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina claiming the defendants should kick in for the costs of cleaning up the Ward Transformer Superfund site.
