Law360, New York (February 03, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Zimmer Holdings Inc. has ratcheted up a legal spat with Smith & Nephew Inc., accusing the British medical devices company of infringing a patent that covers bone screws for anchoring marrow nails, which aid in the treatment of fractures.
In a complaint filed Friday with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, Zimmer alleged that Smith & Nephew infringed the patent through the sale of its Trigen nail system.
