AIG Bows Out Of Green Lobby Group Under Pressure

Law360, New York (February 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Troubled insurer American International Group Inc. has pulled out of a lobbying group seeking to enact legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions after a member of the U.S. House of Representatives complained that bailout money fueled by taxpayers should not be spent on lobbying.

AIG informed the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Thurday that it would stop participating in the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, a coalition of businesses and environmental groups that includes ConocoPhillips, the Dow Chemical Cos. and the Natural Resources Defense Council....
