Mitsui Discriminates Against Non-Asians: Suit

Law360, New York (February 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former U.S.-based employee of Japanese trading company Mitsui & Co. has filed a proposed class action against the company, alleging that it discriminates against non-Asian employees in compensation and promotion.

Andrew Van Etten, a former senior director for Mitsui USA in its New York office, filed the suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
