Senate Panel Passes Transmission Bill Amendment

Law360, New York (February 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Senate panel has reportedly voted to prevent the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from allocating the costs of new transmission lines for green energy unless consumers in a region will receive “measurable economic and reliability benefits.”

Originally, a draft version of the transmission bill said that costs only had to be in line with reasonably anticipated benefits, according to Dow Jones.
