Energy Regulation Will Mirror Securities: Experts

Law360, New York (February 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The rise in new kinds of energy production, energy infrastructure and energy derivatives, coupled with a growing concern about market manipulation, will likely cause energy market regulation in the U.S. to look increasingly like securities market regulation, experts say.

The growth of many types of energy and the need for a large-scale, nationwide infrastructure capable of delivering it have already transformed the industry, according to Jeanine Hull, a partner at Dykema Gossett PLLC.
