ADM Faces Indictment Over Wastewater Violations

Law360, New York (February 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is planning to seek an indictment against an Archer Daniels Midland Co. subsidiary being investigated for wastewater discharge violations in Missouri, the grain industry giant said in a government filing Monday.

In a quarterly report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, ADM said that since February 2008, both the EPA and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources have been investigating wastewater discharge practices at a barge facility owned by the subsidiary.
