6th Circ. Reverses Ruling For GE In Age Bias Case

Law360, New York (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit has reversed a lower court's ruling that an employee of General Electric Co. did not establish a prima facie case of retaliatory firing when he alleged that he was terminated for filing an age discrimination complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The appeals court on Feb. 12 reversed and remanded a 2007 ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, which granted summary judgment in the case in favor of GE....
