Gloves Come Off In Plavix Battle

Law360, New York (August 18, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Canadian generic drug maker Apotex has accused Bristol-Myers of engaging in illegal secret side deals that led to a Department of Justice investigation into a Plavix settlement agreement.

In court filings, Apotex said it had alerted the Federal Trade Commission to attempts by a Bristol-Myers executive to mislead the government about secret agreements the pharmaceutical giant made with Apotex.

The side deals included two provisions that were not part of the original settlement agreement that said Bristol-Myers and Sanofi would give Apotex a six-month head start...
