Caesars Settles Sex, Age Bias Suit Over Hiring Plan

Law360, New York (February 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Caesars Atlantic City, a Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. hotel and casino, has reached a settlement with a group of mostly male bartenders who claimed that the casino’s hiring practices for its Toga Bar discriminated against them.

In the long-running employment discrimination case, the bartenders alleged that the casino had favored young, attractive women when attempting to hire a number of bartenders for a concept bar called the Toga Bar, and did not hire them either because of their sex or age.
